Look out for your team, your mates and yourself this R U OK? Day
- 23 July 2025
Checking in with someone could be one of the most important things you do this year. R U OK? Day is coming up on Thursday, 11 September, and it’s a reminder that sometimes a simple question can make a real difference.
This message is especially important in the Industrial industry, where workers face unique pressures. Long hours, isolated work, physical demands and high-pressure environments can all take a toll. In fact, recent data from Superfriend ranked the transport and logistics sector last in the country for mental health and wellbeing, with a score of just 65 out of 100.
That’s why Lendlease has partnered with Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds, a not-for-profit dedicated to improving mental health across the supply chain. Together, we’re committed to creating safer, healthier and more supportive workplaces across our Industrial sites.
If someone on your team or at your site seems a little off, such as being more withdrawn, more stressed, or just not themselves, it could be time to check in. The R U OK? approach makes it simple:
- Ask R U OK?
- Listen with an open mind
- Encourage action
- Check in
Before you start a conversation, it’s important to check in with yourself, too. Are you in the right headspace? Can you really listen? Do you have the time to chat properly? If not, think about who else in your team might be able to help.
We know that supporting mental health looks different across every site. That’s why we want to hear from you.
What would make a difference in your workplace?
How can we do more to support mental health across the industry?
